About Me

Betty James artist
A native Texas artist, I live with my husband Wayne in Spring, Texas north of Houston. Art has been a lifelong passion for me starting in early childhood with drawing. Since that time I have explored various mediums along the way, mainly painting in oil. For over a decade I spent most of my time painting with acrylics on large private commissioned murals mostly done from Old Master's work chosen by the client. For the past few years I have been painting more on smaller original works again. I am fortunate to live in an active artist community with many groups available. My latest interest is in the beautiful medium of soft pastel. Painting is a never ending process to learn and improve my skills and a way to express myself. I am thankful to have an art filled life working at something I love. It gives me a deeper appreciation for the beauty surrounding me daily. My hope is that others may enjoy my small contribution to the world of art.
